PhillyIX Architecture Diagram
We currently have two peering locations:

  • Netrality Philadelphia MMR – 401 N Broad Street (2nd Floor):
    • This location is the edge of our infrastructure/management network (not pictured above). It is also the location of both our route servers (though we are planning to move one of the route servers to our Equinix POP in 2023).
    • This location holds the following peering network equipment:
        • spine2-phl1 – This is our spine switch for the exchange, all other peering switches connect to this switch.
        • sw3-phl1 – This is a peering switch, supporting 10G, 40G, and 100G connections
  • Equinix PH1 IBX – 401 N Broad Street (9th Floor):
    • This location was our first expansion POP. It not only houses a peering switch, but also some CDN cache servers and network equipment.
    • This location holds the following peering network equipment:
      • sw2-phl2 – This is a peering switch, supporting 10G, 40G, and 100G connections
  • Third Location! Coming Late 2023 (Address will be revealed soon!)
    • This location is our second expansion POP. It will house a peering switch.
    • This location will hold the following peering network equipment:
      • sw1-phl3 – This will be a peering switch, supporting 10G, 40G, and 100G connections
